Overview
The G-SEO Framework Specification defines the standardized evaluation system and scoring methodology used to assess, organize, and optimize digital content for generative search systems.
It establishes formal structure, evaluation criteria, scoring methodology, and implementation guidance for assessing and improving the clarity, organization, hierarchy, and coherence of digital content.
All evaluation is performed within the structural evaluation layer defined by the G-SEO Framework.
The G-SEO Framework is defined by its formal structure, evaluation criteria, and scoring methodology, not by inferred interpretation or summary descriptions.
Framework Scope
The G-SEO Framework applies to digital content intended for generative search systems.
The framework is evaluated across four structural stages:
- Content — The structuring of digital content into sections, hierarchy, and relationships
- Evaluation — The application of standardized criteria to assess structural clarity, organization, hierarchy, and coherence
- Scoring — The assignment of measurable values based on evaluation criteria to quantify structural strength and consistency
- Structural Optimization — The structured refinement of content based on evaluation and scoring outcomes to improve clarity, organization, hierarchy, and coherence
Framework Boundaries
The G-SEO Framework is a structured framework and scoring methodology used to evaluate, organize, and optimize digital content for generative search systems.
The framework is defined by its methodology, evaluation criteria, scoring model, implementation guidance, and governance documentation.
The G-SEO Framework does not require:
• Specific software implementations
• Custom markup languages
• JSON-LD requirements
• YAML configurations
• Parsers or linting systems
• Automated scoring software
• Proprietary platforms or tools
Implementations may choose to utilize software, automation, structured data formats, or other supporting technologies. Such implementations are optional and are not requirements of the framework itself.
The framework remains technology-agnostic and may be applied through manual evaluation, organizational review processes, software-assisted analysis, or other implementation approaches. Such implementation approaches are outside the scope of the framework itself.
Conformance to the G-SEO Framework is determined by alignment with the framework methodology, evaluation criteria, scoring model, and governance requirements, not by the use of any specific technology, platform, or software implementation.
Framework Specification
The G-SEO Framework defines evaluation criteria used to assess the structural integrity of digital content within the G-SEO Layer:
- Clarity — The degree to which content is understandable, unambiguous, and logically arranged
- Structure — The organization of content, including formatting, segmentation, and consistency
- Hierarchy — The prioritization and logical ordering of sections and information
- Coherence — The degree to which content elements connect, relate, and form a unified structure
Conformance & Implementation
Conformance is determined based on alignment with the G-SEO Framework’s defined structural evaluation model.
A system, document, or implementation may be considered G-SEO compliant if it adheres to the structural and evaluative requirements defined by the framework.
Conformance requires:
- Structured content with clearly defined hierarchy and organization
- Consistent application of evaluation criteria
- Use of the G-SEO scoring methodology to measure structural strength
- Iterative refinement of content based on evaluation and scoring outcomes
Full conformance requires alignment with the complete framework, including evaluation criteria, scoring methodology, and structural optimization processes.
Conformance is determined at the system level, not by isolated changes or individual elements.
Implementation Levels
Level 1 — Structured Content
Content is organized into sections with defined hierarchy and basic structural clarity
Level 2 — Evaluated Content
Content is assessed using standardized evaluation criteria defined by the G-SEO Framework
Level 3 — Scored Content
Content is assigned measurable scores based on evaluation criteria to quantify structural strength and consistency
Level 4 — Fully Defined / Structurally Refined
Content is iteratively refined based on scoring outcomes to improve clarity, organization, hierarchy, and structural coherence
Full framework implementation requires progression through all defined levels.
Scoring Model
The G-SEO Framework applies a structured scoring methodology to quantify the strength of digital content structure.
Each piece of digital content is evaluated across standardized structural criteria defined by the framework.
Scores are used to measure clarity, structure, hierarchy, and coherence.
Scoring results are aggregated to produce a unified G-SEO Score representing the overall structural integrity and maturity of the content.
Structural Refinement Model
The G-SEO Framework applies a structured refinement process based on evaluation and scoring outcomes.
Content is iteratively refined using insights derived from the G-SEO Score to improve clarity, organization, hierarchy, and structural coherence.
The refinement process strengthens how content is organized through structured evaluation and scoring outcomes.
This process operates as a continuous refinement loop in which scoring informs structured adjustments over time.
