Legacy G-SEO Framework Content
This page documents the former G-SEO Framework™ and is preserved unchanged for historical reference. It does not represent the current G-SEO™ specification.
The structural evaluation work documented here now continues through The Structured Framework™.

The structural evaluation work originally developed through the G-SEO Framework™ now continues through The Structured Framework™.
This transition followed a formal review of the framework’s identity, scope, terminology, and long-term direction, together with a refusal issued during examination of the G-SEO™ trademark application concerning the registrability of the G-SEO™ mark as filed.
The review reinforced an issue already identified during the framework’s development: the G-SEO name no longer accurately described the full scope of the structural evaluation system that had emerged.
Over time, the framework became increasingly focused on the structural condition of digital information rather than search rankings, visibility, traffic, citations, generated responses, or other performance outcomes.
Development of the evaluation framework under the G-SEO identity was therefore concluded. Its documented structural foundation, evaluation methodology, and development history were carried forward into The Structured Framework™.
The Transition
The Structured Framework™ carries forward and expands the structural evaluation work originally developed through the Legacy G-SEO Framework™, including:
- structural evaluation principles;
- defined evaluation characteristics;
- repeatable evaluation procedures;
- scoring methodology;
- terminology and definitions;
- versioned documentation; and
- documented development history.
The transition preserved the substance of the structural work while establishing a framework identity with its own defined scope, terminology, evaluation model, and authority.
The Structured Framework™ is not simply a renamed version of the G-SEO Framework™. It is the continuation and formal development of the structural evaluation work that began under the earlier identity.
The Structured Framework™
The Structured Framework™ provides a consistent method for understanding and evaluating how digital information is presented, organized, represented, connected, and maintained across sources and environments.
The earlier G-SEO Framework evaluated structural characteristics including clarity, organization, coherence, and structural integrity. These concepts remain part of the work carried forward into The Structured Framework™.
The current Structured evaluation model formalizes that work through five dimensions:
- Organization
- Representation
- Consistency
- Continuity
- Clarity
Together, these dimensions provide a more complete method for evaluating the structural condition of digital information.
Organization examines how information is arranged, grouped, prioritized, and related.
Representation examines how clearly and accurately a subject, concept, organization, or other information construct is described.
Consistency examines whether information remains compatible across pages, sources, documents, and environments.
Continuity examines whether relationships, context, authority, and meaning are preserved as information changes, moves, or is reused.
Clarity examines whether information can be understood without unnecessary ambiguity or reconstruction.
These dimensions are evaluated independently through observable evidence. Findings describe the structural condition of the information examined within the stated evaluation scope and environment.
The Structured Framework™ does not evaluate the internal behavior of search engines, generative systems, information-retrieval systems, AI models, or agent-based platforms.
It does not measure rankings, visibility, traffic, citations, generated-answer performance, recommendation, selection, or other search or system outcomes.
Its scope is the structure and representation of digital information.
The Historical Record
The Legacy G-SEO Framework™ remains part of the documented development history of The Structured Framework™.
Earlier G-SEO Framework documents, specifications, evaluations, publications, reports, and development records remain relevant as historical materials showing how the structural evaluation work developed.
Those materials may include earlier terminology, evaluation dimensions, scoring models, implementation concepts, and framework architecture that were current during their respective development periods.
They should not be treated as current Structured Framework™ documentation unless they have been formally migrated, revised, or republished under the Structured identity.
Legacy G-SEO materials should also not be used as the current definition of G-SEO™.
The Legacy G-SEO Framework™ and The Structured Framework™ have a documented developmental relationship, but the two framework identities should not be used interchangeably.
The Current Direction of G-SEO™
G-SEO™ continues separately under a narrower and independently defined scope.
Current G-SEO™ is a publisher-controlled implementation specification for explicitly representing information to generative-search, AI, information-retrieval, and agent-based environments.
A G-SEO implementation may communicate defined first-party information such as purpose, activities, capabilities, scope, relationships, boundaries, authority, applicable environments, and other specified information.
G-SEO™ defines what an implementation communicates. It is not limited to a particular file extension, markup language, data format, platform, or publication method.
The publisher retains control over the information expressed through an implementation. Recipient systems remain responsible for how they retrieve, interpret, combine, or use that information.
G-SEO™ does not evaluate the structural condition of digital information. That work now continues through The Structured Framework™.
G-SEO™ also does not instruct recipient systems to rank, prioritize, cite, recommend, select, include, or otherwise provide preferential treatment to an organization, subject, implementation, or source.
The distinction is therefore clear:
The Structured Framework™ evaluates the structure and representation of digital information.
G-SEO™ provides a publisher-controlled specification for explicitly representing defined information.
Effective Date
The transition from the Legacy G-SEO Framework™ to The Structured Framework™ became effective on August 3, 2026.
Materials published before that date under the G-SEO Framework identity should be interpreted according to their original version, publication date, and historical context.
Current definitions and documentation for The Structured Framework™ are maintained through Structured.
Current definitions and implementation documentation for G-SEO™ are maintained separately through G-SEO.
The Structured Framework™ evaluates observable structural characteristics of digital information. It does not measure performance and makes no claims regarding search results, rankings, visibility, traffic, citations, generated responses, recommendation, selection, or inclusion.
